Wishing you...

With a party look, party styled nails are a must! So I got my Pink Gellac collection again to create something festive.

For this creation I used 3 different colors. I started with 2 thin layers of white polish. After that I used a thin layer of silver polish followed by 2 thin layers of gold. This I did because the silver and golden polish are a bit see-through when you apply very thin layers. It gives a beautiful effect to the nails and the white polish underneath makes it lighten up.

White polish: Pink Gellac color 101
Silver polish: Pink Gellac color 129 Fabulous Silver
Golden polish: Pink Gellac color 130 Luxury Gold

Pearls Please

Pictures by: Jelmer Steenhuis

In between the busy holidays I didn't want to forget updating my blog. I very much love my winter chic-party outfits. The pearl necklace I made from different necklaces that I combined into a single long one. The necklace has freshwater pearls and saltwater pearls of many different sizes, shapes and colours. Because it's so diverse it looks natural.

Top: French Connection
Skirt: Asos
Heels: Dune
Small black belt: Vanillia
Leather handgloves: Oasis

Winter Nails

The Christmas creation I made today is inspired by the snow that belongs to Christmas. The creation has two layers of white polish. After applying the top coat I sprinkled some glitters over the tip of my nails and sticked a little star in the polish. This was done before I let it harden under the uv-light. After the hardening I applied an extra layer of top coat to finish the nail art and for the protection of the glitters and the stars.
Here is the result!

White polish: Pink Gellac color 101
Glitters: Douglas (loose eye glitters)
Stars: (any hobby shop)

Party Chic Nails

With the holidays to come, golden glitters had to be in te picture. I created these simple black, golden party nails, inspired by black caviar and champagne.

(If you are a beginner and you don't know how Pink Gellac works, I advise to read my blog about french maicure first. You can find it here: http://laundrychemistry.blogspot.nl/2013/09/about-my-nails.html)

After making my nails ready and after bringing on the basecoat:

1. I started with a single thin layer of the (beautiful) black polish from Pink Gellac. The polish doesn't need to be totally opaque, because you will work on that later. Let it harden under the uv-light.

2. After the previous step, I applied the golden polish with a small brush. (I didn't bring it on at the tip of the nails.) Then you can sprinkle the wet polish with some extra glitters. You can remove the spilled glitters and polish with a cotton bud before you let it harden under the uv-light.

Redo step 2 so that the nails, with exception of the tip, are fully covered by glitters.

3. As the last step you can perfect the tip of the nail by aplying some extra black polish with a small brush. Let it harden on under the uv-light and finish it with the top coat.

Today's Simplicity

Just a tight jeans worn over a simple turtleneck with a pair of heels.
I pinned my hair up so it would make you think about a long bobline. This is perfectly fitting in the picture with the high waist jeans and gives it a more 50's kind of style. Red lipstick and nails, a simple mascara and a eyeliner for the finisching touch.

How I pinned-up my hair...

This will only work if your hair is not to long or to short and has some layers.
I didn't wash my hair for a few days which is better for the hair and gives it a natural shine. Also it gets a bit more of the messy hair look.

You need: Some simple hair pins that are fitting with the color of your own hair.

1: Grap your hair in a low lose ponytale and shake it a little so the shorter locks of your hair will get loose.

2: Throw your head forward and fold the part you're still holding of the tail under your hair so you can pin it there.

3: You can sit upright and give your hair a bit more volume and make ik more messy with your hands.

Ready to go!

Jewelry

Grandmothers jewelrybox...
My grandmother had a very good taste for clothes and jewelry.
I found a few raw gemstones in her jewelry box which I often like to wear.
In some way I'm totally into that kind of accessory at the moment. You can also find a lot of variations in the jewelryshop at the present. It can give your outfit that pure touch, which I really like.
These are the pieces I wear the most at the moment.
